Hmmm, I wonder what happened to Lisa -N- Richie. And I wonder if they still wonder if that scrawl is still there.
John Mellencamp was my favorite songwriter of all time until I interviewed him and learned that the rumors of his curmudgeonly behavior were true. A grump and a tyrant. I included that in my story, and my world turned upside down: my hero was suddenly speaking MY name.
My editor loved it, though.
Word to the wise: when you become a famous rock star, don't be so demanding that your manager has to give reporters a list of topics to avoid. Reporters don't usually obey those commands. Not the good ones, anyway. heh heh
I first saw Mellencamp on the Farm Aid show, I think. He seemed like he was all ego to me. The linked video doesn't change my view. Like a few of his songs, but don't like him at all. Glad to know, Heather, that I wasn't off the mark.
Depends on where this tag is. If it is one I am thinking of, they broke up long ago (almost before the concrete dried)--but I've lost contact with both, so who knows?
Mellencamp had said he was bipolar years ago, which contributed to a lot of his perceived and experienced attitude/behaviour issues. He's got a track record of a number of marriages/addictions/issues that speak to that. I think it does suggest that we need to think about whom we idolize and why. Thank you Charlie's Coffee House for hosting my photo exhibit, South Pas: Observed. From October 2011 through January 2012 my pictures graced the walls of the best place in town to get a cup of coffee!
Read the nifty story on photo bloggers Petrea Burchard, Ben Wideman, Kat Likkel and little old me featured in the September, 2011 issue of Pasadena Magazine.

Don't forget about Jack and Diane
I am glad that a few things never change. Affection etched into a street or sidewalk or tree shows that romance is still alive and well.
Ya ! Its cute how some people love to immortalize their love on buildings and objects !!
These name photos would make such a cool wall installation.
