Literary types love to pontificate on just why sunny, flower-filled Southern California inspired the uniquely dark stories of James M. Cain and Raymond Chandler, ultimately leading to the cinematic movement of film noir.
I say it's because June Gloom makes everything feel a little sinister.

Come on, June gloom
Move out of sight
HA HA HA HA I don't know what came over me
Loved the vignette. Great mood.
Really nice. It could be the cover art for next Chandler re-issue.
Come over to my blog...to watch...as June Gloom descends.
Uh...Judy? Love the chant (I did routines to that one in High School) but kinda ruins the film noir mood...don'cha think???
The chant would work well in a David Lynch movie.
You've got it right, Laurie. Although down in the dumps is more like it. I'm all for Judy's cheering. Too much of this gets to me and I've been complaining.
I've been complaining, too.
