Passageway

Today is the first of the month, and that means it's Theme Day for participating City Daily Photo bloggers. This month's theme is Passageway. What better subject that the heavily traversed crosswalk on Mission at Meridian? I may be over analyzing, but I think there is a lesson to be learned from that happy little jumping girl in the picture.

For more interpretations of today's theme, explore the many corridors of the City Daily Photo community. Click here to view thumbnails for all participants

Joy is the word tht comes to mind when seeing that little girl crossing the street. This also looks like a good spot to take an "Abbey Road" type of photo.

This is such an excellent capture of motion... all three subjects are half grounded, half elevated!

And that vibrating red and orange moves everyone forward.

I love the kid in mid air. that is a great stop action shot. The colors are so happy for a gloomy Monday morning!!!

We could all take a lesson from the happy little jumping girl in the picture. I'm with Judy on the gloomy Monday morning bit. We, here, have had more than our share and the bright colors are uplifting. It's good to eagerly await a blossoming Spring.

I seem to remember you have an Abbey Road kind of shot of this for Sharon. It's a great choice for today, South Pasadena's major passageway.

When I first looked at this one, I thought of puppets dangling from strings. The kid in mid air really gives that effect, and the other two are in movement with vertical lines going up from their heads (strings?).

Very, very, very (I do that for emphasis :-) ) fun shot! The mid stride gate of the woman in the foreground is what first caught my eye, and then I was looking for Paul, barefoot in a suit. So, glad you pulled my attention to the jumper in the hoody. The strong graphics and bright pops of color make this a very exciting image, let alone the joyful action! That line of window on the coral colored building and the regular intervals of the mullions in the windows below all add rhythm, too. Makes me feel skippy just to take in the scene. I love this, Lori!

Love how you caught the kidlet in mid-hop.

Thank you so much, you guys! This is a favorite of mine. First, because I love this spot in South Pas. I was sitting at Busters enjoying a particularly huge cup of strong coffee, listening to a particularly sweet bit of live jazz with family and friends. I saw this happy, colorful family bouncing across the street and just managed to grab my camera in time to capture them. The colors of those jackets against the old Alexander building really made me happy. For every 100 shots that I miss, I'll get one good one like this. Yay!

Until tomorrow...

I would have explored the Oaklawn bridge for this theme...

Welcome LBarlow, AIA! I love that bridge -- but have never managed to capture a good picture. I'm usually there when the light is too harsh and it's just an overexposed bunch of concrete. I'll get it. Eventually!
