The parking lot was empty when I drove up to make a deposit at the ATM. I turned around and saw this mysterious car. I never heard an engine or a car door slam. It was as if it just appeared...
I love the mostly silhouetted shot. The composition is fabulous as well. That old car may have just appeared and then vanished as quickly as it came. I wonder if that's a kit car. Whatever, it's great. The three silver circles (lights and mirror) add a nice round theme.
In December of 2007, after many years on the west side of Los Angeles (and at least a third of those years spent stuck in traffic on Pico Boulevard) my family settled into a happy little house in South Pasadena. This daily blog covered almost 5 years as I put down roots in my new home town -- and almost 5 more as I settled in and became a South Pas old-timer. Here it is...my time capsule of South Pasadena.

Thank you Charlie's Coffee House for hosting my photo exhibit, South Pas: Observed. From October 2011 through January 2012 my pictures graced the walls of the best place in town to get a cup of coffee!
Read the nifty story on photo bloggers Petrea Burchard, Ben Wideman, Kat Likkel and little old me featured in the September, 2011 issue of Pasadena Magazine.

Hmmmm.... I'm not going to say you're being followed, but, you know how things are in Pleasant Valley South Pas! Cool photo.

All I can think is Herbie the Lovebug! :)
Maybe there's a Prius inside. Damn, I'm always walking in front of them because I can't hear them coming.
I like the contrasts of light and tones, very serene looking. Nice with the car..nostalgic.
When it comes to cars I always look to Judy. What she said.
I know very little about cars and cats, except to say, cars don't meow. And some even purr.
I like it, LA. One of your better ones.
Yes, a phantom roadster. It's as if it's headlights are following me wherever I go
ooooh, ghost car! You need to go back there on this day next year, same time, to see if it comes back. Maybe it's looking for something...
Aren't there any new cars in SoPas???
Thanks, everyone! I like the idea of the phantom roadster/ghost car. It really was weird when I turned around and it was just, like, THERE.
Chieftess, I'm beginning to wonder!
Until tomorrow, kids...
Oh, and welcome Los Angeles Suburbia! :-)
