Me! My old jobshare partner and I used to call ourselves the bad girls because we could break a rule or two from time to time :-). I love your witty title and as ever, your writing. Yours is one of the joys of blogdom, where head meets heart meats art meets home.
Hey, we are celebrating Eric's Paris Daily Photo 5th anniversary today. Hope you'll pop over his way and wish him a great day. -Kim
Okay, so I've just been able to spend a little pleasant time going back through your last week's worth of posts. Laurie, I kid you not, everyone of them is perfect. Amazing images, associations, attentiveness, great writing. Wow. Kudos, and thank you. -Kim
I'm with you...even though I haven't been in South Pasadena since 1989, and I'm back in Sweden now. I have some great memories from that time and i loved the place. Was searching for inspiration for a book I'm writing and found your blog. Thanks for the inspiration Laurie! :)
oooOOOHH, OOHHH ((hand waving wildly, call on me)), this precocious child remembers this house! It has had, for the longest time, two front lawn staples: this lovely tree swing, and a scarecrow that was actually a little scary, since it stood above these concrete tiles that I thought were tombstones when I was a kid;)
Welcome, Jonas! May you have wonderful success with your book!
Kim, thank you so much for your incredibly kind words. It means the world to me -- you're one of my favorite bloggers and such a brilliant photographer. (Everyone, run over to Kim's blog immediately and check out her amazing views of Seattle.)
Alex, I've shown a picture of that scarecrow here on the blog!
This is fabulous. It almost has a feel of the islands with the windows and big porch. I love how you framed the swing with the trees. I'm with you - let's sneak over the fence and have a few mai tais while sitting on that swing

This daily blog covered almost 5 years as I put down roots in my new home town -- and almost 5 more as I settled in and became a South Pas old-timer. Here it is...my time capsule of South Pasadena.

Thank you Charlie's Coffee House for hosting my photo exhibit, South Pas: Observed. From October 2011 through January 2012 my pictures graced the walls of the best place in town to get a cup of coffee!

Dare you. And I want photographic evidence.
I'll take a pass. I've been busted three times for trespassing in the last month alone.
Don't do it, Laurie! Don't jump over the fence! You'll get cussed out!!!
I'm right behind you LA, once you're over the fence and we establish how many Rottweilers are in the yard.

I wonder if anyone who lives there ever actually goes out and sits in the swing???
I'm with you even if a dark cloud hovers. Then I'll be, "Swingin' in the Rain."
I'm not sure if I'm goin' in there with ya, Laurie. I guess I'm just
