Urban Oasis

Tasty ice cream and strong coffee aren't the only reasons why Busters is such an uplifting spot for afternoon refreshment. Don't you just love the colors of the building itself? (You can see more of it here.) Add a little Sunday afternoon live music and this South Pas hangout is a perfect prescription for the blahs.

This almost has the feel of a vivid water color. I love the leaves in the foreground as our eye follows through to the linear stairs and arched windows. All of the tones are warm, even the greens. NICE!!!

Let's hear it for Buster's! Such color. It warms my heart to know that such a place exists. All that and ice cream too!

The colors are so outrageous, it's fantastic!

LA: The way you've framed this colorful shot with foliage gives it the feeling of a painting by Henri Rousseau... only in broad daylight!

Instead of a black panther slinking into view, I expect to see a diva in black leather.

Ahh Busters. If only they had hours for night owls.

If that doesn't get you all revved up, nothing will!

do the sisters still own/run the place?

Yup Collette and her sister still run Buster's as well as their mother Claira who runs the candy store down the street. Buster's is one of those places I'm going to miss terribly when I move out of SoPa.

Thanks, guys. And welcome, David!

I know what you're thinking, David, you can move away and follow Glimpses (what a fine word that is!) from anywhere. But you won't have Buster's. Perhaps your moving plans should be reconsidered.
