Mystery Object
It's the first day of the month, and that means it's Theme Day for participating City Daily Photo bloggers. Today's theme is Mystery Object.
Well, I hate to spoil everyone's fun but I know exactly what this thing is. At least, I have a few ideas...
It's a robot stairclimber.
A literal translation of cubism.
An early, unsuccessful predecessor to the Rubix cube.
It's an ironic take on square pegs and round holes.
A National Endowment for the Arts grant winner.
A temple for the worship of square dancing.
Something left behind by someone who really thought outside the box.
A fabulous use of unwanted apple crates.
An alien DNA strand.
Spare parts for the Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
A sign that the singularity will definitely happen sooner than we think...
Or maybe not. Whatever it is, it can be found at Orange Grove playground. And as every parent knows, the way children transform from babies into big kids and beyond is definitely the biggest mystery of all.

Whatever it is, I do hope it is stable!! It reminds me a bit of a building set called Meccano, which was around in the middle of last century and was the precursor to lego.
Sculptural milk cases, titled "The Milky Way." ;)
(break a lens tonight.)
OK, Laurie, you've now proved that whenever you said, "Gang, I need help with this one," you really didn't need help at all.
There's a fountain in San Francisco that Herb Caenused to say looked like the leavings of a dog with a square-shaped intestine, so maybe that's what this is.
By the way, did you see the other day where Sarah Palin kept referring to Republican candidate Herman Cain as "Herb Caen"?
Cubism? More like rectangularism :). Have a great opening of your photo exhibit at Charlie's today!
i like the image and love your interpretations of the image. great fun
I love the list of possibles...and the last sentence. Looks like fun for kids to climb.
Having trouble with my PC today. Just now getting a chance to comment.
You don't need any help with these cement blocks, or whatever they are.
I wish you a happy reception of your wonderful work shown at Charlie's this evening and for weeks to come. I know you will blow them all away.
Sugar cubes from another planet.
