Lonely Muscle Car...

Poor little speedster. Stuck in a parking lot on a perfect summer day. (It was still there when I drove by several hours later.)

I saw a blue one of those in Fullerton Sunday. I like the composition, with the angular lines of the parking lot and hedges.

Yep, my friend Ron Jennings had one in high school. It was maroon and smelled funny inside. The Cougar never quite made it as far as the Camaro or Mustang.

That looks like a '68 Cougar. The Cougar was the Mercury version of the Mustang and never did sell as well. My crazy aunt had one until she totaled it driving through a wall at Montrose Bob's.

neighbor across the street used to have one in gold if I recall correctly---I don't think she drove it faster than about 30mph, ever. leeeetle old lady from SoPas!

this one is purty! Looks like it has been lifted a skosh. Am sure, like a kitty, it purrrs!

did you play with the color sat on this Laurie? The plate looks like the old black and gold CA plates (appropriate for the '68 Coug) but the 3CTP441 means it should be a white plate--or one of the bazillion options. am sure dbdubya can give a better rundown of legal plates.

Good observation, Trish. A black/gold plate from that era would have three letters followed by three numbrs. It looks like someone took a current plate and repainted it. Where's the South Pasasdena Police when you need them?

dbdubya---lol! must be the new watch, falling down on the job!

my father had a 67 'stang, so I know only too well what the plate should look like.

then again, is there something in the code that says you cannot paint the plate as long as you keep the tags and plate number clearly visible? It would make sense there would be, but I'm not that intimate with the veh code.

I'll bet this car's not lonely on a Saturday night.

Funny, but I didn't even notice the plates. Good eyes, you guys.

Petrea, I'll bet you're right.
