Kat Tale

Why am I posting a picture of my cat Mirabelle? Well, she is a resident of South Pasadena. (A very pampered, very spoiled resident...) But this picture is also my attempt to approximate some of the wonderful shots of another San Gabriel Valley resident named Kat -- the blogmistress of Pasadena, 91105 and Beyond.

Kat's blog is a recent addition to the City Daily Photo family. She describes her pictures as "found moments" with serendipity playing a large part in what she shoots. It is any wonder I'm crazy about her work? Kat's whimsical, color-saturated slices of San Gabriel Valley life are a joy to behold. She truly captures the ordinary as extraordinary -- from the dreamlike view of a tree that grows both oranges and lemons to the in-your-face macro shot of her mother's new puppy. Clicking through her posts is like flipping through a fabulous technicolor storybook. Did I mention that many of the shots were taken with her iPhone?! All this and she can write, too.

You may have already been introduced to Kat's blog by our good friend Petrea at Pasadena Daily Photo. But if not, click here to visit Pasadena, 91105 and Beyond.

Welcome to the San Gabriel Valley blogger family, Kat!

Mirabelle is a fine looking cat. I love the piercing, green eyes.

It's so funny because I took kitty photos yesterday too. I visited a friend who has "teenage kittens" and was able to get up close and personal just like you did with Mirabelle.

YAY for kitties.

Hi Kat. You're the one with the Greek name, Klikkonthis. I knew some people by that name once. They ran a Greek restaurant.

That's one glamorous cat photo.

What pretty face!

I checked out Pasadena 91105 and found it very charming. I especially liked the "endangered species".

I'm glad you're giving her more free PR. She deserves it. Kat is one of my fav blogger's. I hope others will visit her so she can give up her day job.

Hey kids!

I laughed when I logged on this morning and saw my cat's big face staring at me.

Hiker, yup. She's a glamourpuss. (Literally!)

I'm so glad you guys are checking out Kat's blog. I've become such a fan of her work. (Just like Cafe Pasadena!) City Daily Photo has grown into quite a phenomenon. I think there were about 900 blogs when I started and now the number is 1184 as of today. It's a wonderful portal to the world. I still can't believe the friends I've made in virtually every continent. Their blogs are windows into the little details of life on earth. It's so cool to see how many things we all share in common -- whether we live in Israel, Iran, France, Australia, South Africa, Japan, Canada, Sweden, Greece or the San Gabriel Valley.

HOpe everyone is having a lovely Sunday!

Gorgeous springtime here. I'm so excited to know that it won't be that cold until next fall. The trees are starting to bud and our kitty, Rose is enjoying the sun on the deck. She isn't an outdoor kitty but if I open the back door, she goes no farther than the steps and just sniffs and enjoys the warmth.

Beautiful kitty!!! I can tell she's quite the glamourpuss!!!

Our beautiful mostly white calico kitty has been rolling in the dirt this morning and looks more like Schultz's PigPen than her beautiful self!!!!

I've been a regular follower of Kat's new blog since Cafe first mentioned her...I love her style of photos!!! Very cool!!! And very unique style!!!

Pasadena Adjacent - don't ruin a perfectly good Sunday by doing taxes. I have a box of receipts staring at me but refuse to tackle it today. :)

Judy, just give those box of receipts to someone else to tackle. And, he'll prepare you another receipt when he's done.

Cafe Pasadena - Do you get along with cats, or do they intimidate you? Just wondering...

Isn't she great? Both kitty and Kat, I mean. I love the look of Kat's photos. She has a real style. This kitty photo is pretty fine, too.

PA, that pink is from her pink rhinestone collar with matching heart tag. (Little Bit picked it out!)

I think I like your cat, Laurie, better than me Kat. :) Thanks for all the nice words, and the great shout out here. It was hearing about City Daily Photo that first got me interested in doing this. I heard about it, started following blogs, particularly our local Pasadena and Pasadena adjacent (both literally and figuratively!) blogs and I was hooked.

I've been taking my odd little photos (and bugging everyone in my family with them) for years. But since my family is so over them now, I was forced to bug the wider world. Blame them!

Thanks everyone who peeked in today! I hope I lived up to Laurie's wildly inflated publicity! lol!

dB, I Love pussycats. In fact this canine has two - my pets. Well, on 2nd thought, ahem, I have one cat left.

Same question to you.

dbdubya said...

What happened, Cafe? Did you have one for dinner?

Yes, I like kitty cats too.

Thanks, everyone!

Kat...I'm so glad you got tired of bugging your family and decided to bug the wider world!!!

Judy: I put that box of receipts off to the very very last moment. My appointment was 3:30 pm yesterday. Today I'm giddy with having that behind me.
