Basket Case

Look who I found leaning against the wall in the corner of the wine cellar... (Actually, the wine cellar happens to double as the laundry room, and this bunny awaits a spring cleaning because he seems to have gotten chocolate egg on his face.)

Happy Easter, everyone!

This is a great South Pasadena Easter Bunny right next to classic river rock foundation. But why was he eating all those chocolate eggs before easter?

Happy Easter! Mike, I laughed when I saw the little guy up against those rocks. You're right, the river rock is classic San Gabriel Valley.

HAPPY EASTER to LA, Jon, L'il Bit and... bunny!

You didn't ask for one, but here's a caption:

"I've Faded into the Background," Bunny felt after all the baskets had been delivered,

Ohhhh, L'il Bit got a little antsy trying to wait huh? That's ok, it's wash.
Hugs,

Gosh, I was just excited to read you have a wine cellar! EXCELLENT! And now you have Mr. Bunny living there, too. Sigh... some lovely people have all the luck.
Happy Easter!

I have a wine cellar that doubles as the hole with my furnace.

Happy Easter!

Good morning, everyone! I hope you're all having a lovely Sunday. LIttle Bit woke us up at the crack of dawn this morning wanting to go downstairs and hunt eggs. Someone should have told Easter to come on a warmer day this year.... brrrr....

Brenda, when we first looked at this house we were so charmed by a real wine cellar. It's definitely a cool place for a laundry room!

So. How many spring-colored M&Ms can I eat this morning before making myself sick? :-)

Wow! You have river rocks in your wine cellar. Very nice. We have cement and dirt. It has its charm, but I never thought of posting a photo of it. Maybe for Halloween.

Happy Easter to your family as well, LA. A new day to start on a new way.

I like eating rabbit. Chocolate rabbits.

Petrea, a previous owner of this house was a huge wine connoisseur, so the cellar is really pretty with wood and river rock and terra cotta casks. (And our few bottles of Trader Joes bordeaux and cheap chianti!)

Nice sentiments, Cafe. Good doggie!

I want a wine cellar with San Gabriel River Rock!!!

Actually, I grew up about a half mile from where I am now...My grandfather was a Swiss immigrant and he built a small mountain cabin on a foundation of river rock which is where my mother and father first lived when they got married...and I lived there just before I married the Hubman...long story short...grampa Mader built a small shed with river rock which was a wine cellar during prohibition...after all, a good European never ate dinner without a bit of wine...so he grew his own!!! He also built a charming Craftsman house on the same lot, which is where I lived until I was in the 4th grade, and my parents subdivided out large lot into 4 lots and built the "modern" house in our back yard!!! While it was being built, we would carry our dishes to the "new" house and wash them in the dishwasher!!! My mom lived on that same piece of property for about 80 years. Unfortunately, we sold our "modern" house after she moved to assisted living, and the "little house" (the mountain cabin) shortly after she passed away. We had contemplated buying out my sisters for the cabin, and then building, but we didn't want to move there as we love our house (the Hubman's grandpa built our house in the 50's!)...yep!!! the Hubman and I go way back in this here San Gabriel Valley!!!

Happy Easter from way over here in Austin. The Spring green foliage is bursting out all over, the deer are roaming and eating things they don't even like (much to my dismay) and I am thinking chocolate bunny ears and Easter ham.

Interesting photo, Laurie. Maybe you can throw him in with the wash.

Wishing lots of Easter treats for Li'l Bit and a good family dinner for you and Jon.

What a cool story, Chieftess.

Obviously this rabbit has come to blend in to his river rocky environment over hundreds of years of evolution as a way of hiding from predators, like Elmer Fudd.

Happy Easter. This is the first time in 20 years that I didn't do a big feast or baskets. We went to a friend's house and then came home and ate leftover cake ALL AFTERNOON.

Heh, wasn't there an earthquake today?? I bet that cracked a few eggs!
