Shadow Puppet
A tree growing by a curb is just a tree growing by a curb ... unless you look at it from a different perspective. I am amazed by the things I notice by simply looking down. My photography teacher in high school used to tell me that if I was uninspired by a subject, just examine the shadow. I think he was right. (Come to think of it, his advice seems like a pretty decent life strategy.)

Not just the shadow but that coloured red stripe cutting through it is really striking. You know me everywhere, no stone unturned to get that elusive image.
Yes, loving the stripe going through this! Shadows are mysterious, especially against such a stark backround like this!
Lovely lovely!

Awesome! The colors of the street and sidewalk are amazing.
Very intriguing.
Wise photography instructor...and arent' you the astute student!!! Love the shadow play...
keep your eye on the sparrow!
I like it, it's all purply.
Then again, if you spend to much time looking at the ground you may walk into a tree
smartass
How interesting. The more you look at it, the more interesting it becomes. The leaves as they intertwine, almost create a lacy effect but then that pinkish red curb cuts it in half. Great eye for seeing this.
Petrea's right about the cool purply.
And I think I know where Little Bit gets her abstract fairies from now. ;-)
Thanks so much, everyone. Ken, you cracked me up...
Until tomorrow!
At first I thought this was your arm. Then I realized it's a tree shadow, not you arm. A tree waves in the wind
