Jewels in the Night

Remember these windows? They're sweet, respectable and downright demure during the day ... but just look at how wildly they glam it up at night.

There's a metaphor here somewhere.

Maybe Browning had it figured out when she wrote,

"Yes," I answered you last night;
"No," this morning, sir, I say:
Colours seen by candlelight
Will not look the same by day.

Or maybe it's just fun to find the drama in things. (Even stained glass windows.)

I love this post, especially the symmetry and asymmetry in your photograph.

Very pretty. And they do look like jewels.

It must be due to that palm frond cutting across the center that this image sticks in my mind and I see it as one of the cut-outs by Matisse.

I love the palm frond laid across that gold. The art, and your image of it, is lovely.

Thanks, everyone. It's late and I'm incapable of holding a thought! Until tomorrow...
