Technical Difficulties

My laptop battery is out of juice. When I plugged in the charger, the cord buzzed, sparked and shorted out.

Yikes!

Unfortunately, a trip to Best Buy at midnight is out of the question. So, here's a picture of snow on the mountains. It was the only shot on my camera, taken yesterday from Monterey Hills. Now I feel perfectly justified having a netbook as well as a laptop. At almost 1000 daily posts, I can't break my stride because of equipment malfunction!

Simplicity at its finest. Love the use of negative space. My art major room mate after college did a cool series of pieces with torn paper that were lay one on top of the other, to create a striped mountain scape of sorts. This reminds me of them.

1,000 daily posts? Are you behind ALL the Daily Photo Blogs? We better hop up on that mountain to get away from tsunamis.

Forgive my poor grammar. I should have said pieces with torn paper that were laid one on top of the other.

Were they "laid" or were they "lain"? Maybe they were "hung"?

Yeah, I thought of lain, but looked it up and I think laid is the proper word. Laurie always said "chickens lay eggs" when I would say "lay down" instead of "lie down". It's very confusing.

My mother always told me the same thing Judy...it was one of her pet peeves!!!

I'm in awe of your tenacity Laurie!!! I realized I would never be the dedicated awesome blogger that you are when I totally missed postings when I went to Oregon, and then just recently missed a couple of posts when we went down south for the Chief's conference...

Chieftess, you are awesome! I'm just obsessed. ;-)

Laurie, I am worried about our former South Pasadena Patch editor Sonia Narang. I know she was going to Japan, and I wonder if you know anything about her safety?

And we love you for it!!! That...and you're a cool hot chick!!!

Gretchen, yes I heard from Sonia by email this morning. She is safe in Western Japan, away from the Tsunami. She will write more when she has better internet connection. I received a lot of email from concerned South Pas residents today asking about her. She made quite an impression, and we miss her! I'm very relieved to know that she is okay. I emailed her back that the town was thinking about her.

Chieftess, as one cool, hot chick to another, I salute you!

Didn't know Sonia was in Japan. Glad to know she is okay.

This is a great, calming photo after all the devastating video on the news today.

Judy: I thought you meant layered.

Thanks for all the comments, guys!

I bought a new cord for my computer and then decided it was time to buy a new computer. Bigger, more powerful, good for video editing which you will be seeing more of on Patch as well as on my overflow blog. Yippee!

Oh, one more thing: Sonia filed a story for South Pasadena Patch from Japan. It's right here.
