Druid Sensibilities

I love the way so many South Pas houses are obscured by massive trees in the yard. Add today's photo to this one and this one and we have the beginning of a series.

Look how many little bits of red are here and there. I love that big ol' tree. Don't you know it could tell some stories?

Only you could take pictures of obscured homes and make them into art! Love these, Laurie. Where is that second link? I haven't seen that one before.

i sometimes jog past that house in the first link across from Marengo Elementary and noticed that a for sale sign had been put up about two weeks ago. i thought it'd be really cool to live in a house with such a distinctive tree out front. apparently someone else does as well, since i jogged past yesterday, and it said 'sale pending.'

My grandparents built our house in Glendale in 1951. I was born while it was under construction and my grandparents planted a deodar cedar tree in the front yard in my honor. The house has been in the family now for almost 60 years and the tree, which was named after me, now towers over the house. My children, who have both lived with me as adults, are the 4th generation to live in the family home which I inherited from my aunt. The tree is one of the reasons we're reluctant to sell and relocate permanently to the mountains.

I planted a tree when my daughter was born, dbdubja. I don't think I can ever move!
