Just Driving By

Each time I pass this wonderful old wall, I stop and look at those vines. (And now you can look at them too.)

I see a huge bridal bouquet with trailing branches.

It's early - I need more coffee.

Is that the Tyler home at Grand and Columbia?

I spent a great deal of my teen years at the home (and in the pool) directly across the street. 7th generation Angelenos. That in itself is amazing. They supplied Southern California race tracks with hay. Every summer, they would go to Del Mar and leave the house to a "responsible" friend to house sit. Makes me nostalgic.

Love the balance of the two tall evergreens. What are those, junipers? I've never known. And, I don't know anything about vines. Are those dead or just hibernating for the winter? What kind of plant are they? No wonder I discontinued my gardening blog, I am such a novice! =)

It's especially gorgeous in spring when that wisteria vine bursts into bloom!

Thanks, you guys!

Green Guy, DB is right, that is the wall of the hjstoric Florentine house on Grand.

Diane, wisteria! I couldn't remember what kind of vine it was. So Farmgirl, there's our answer. The vine will bloom again.
