My word verification says it all.
Keep out! Keep out! Because if you touch the plants beyond, you'll get (wv) stroagia.

You don't need help. Why does everyone want to make things complicated. It's simple. It says "KEEP OUT," which means Keep Out. So just keep out. Don't ask questions and don't analyze. Just follow directions. Is that too much to ask? I thought so.

Yeah, that's weird. What have they got planted back there anyway?

I wanted to leave you a comment here and at South Pasadena Patch. I read your column and enjoy your photographs and just wanted to tell you to keep up all the great work.

definitely means "please come right in and take a look around!"

whaaaat? no? ;-)

does remind me of being at Y camp at Lacy Park one year. There was a hide-n-seek---go find your counselor, get a piece of candy. Counselor hid near a back fence and along the way witnessed some sort of crime (in my mind it was a house break in). SM police were swarmed chasing crook outside of park, counselor was waving the cops in the direction of the suspect and the campers were tugging on counselor's shirt saying "where'e my candy?" because none of us had a clue as to what happened outside the park & the counselor was trying not to be panicked for us and pretend like all was calm.

so...maybe on second thought, I'll just go along my merry way and pretend I didn't see anything afterall.......

The sign and the color of the rope suggests to me it's intended for squirrels. They will never cross an orange barrier.

Oh, I thought this was Petrea's Zen Monday......

LA, you're not in L.A. anymore!

LOL Mr. Earl!
The tree branches behind the sign look like a pretzel. Maybe it has something to do with avoiding carbs.

wasn't going to go in there before, but now i'm intrigued.

Why can't I find your column over at South Pasadena Patch? Did they replace your position with an advice column? I don't know how to find your past columns either.

You know as soon as you can't do something that's what you want to do. Life runs in reverse allot of the time. "Keep Out" just makes you want to go in. Ya know, like you're gonna diet and you can't have that cookie...well...You are gonna crave that cookie and so you eat it. Hey! Maybe behind the sign is the rabbit hole in Alice and Wonderland...hmm. I want to go in there now...darn-it!

HA HA - San D - avoiding carbs. But it DOES look like a pretzel.

wv - ockzgin

Maybe they want you to keep out cause there isn't any ockzgin in there and you can't breathe.

Hi guys!

Welcome Johnny Brown! Thanks for the kind words.

Gretchen and Johnny, Patch revolves my column off the front page when they add a new one. They only have room for three on the front page -- don't get me started on the basic Patch template. I really think it needs modifying to be able to find things once they are off the front page. You can always search my name but that doesn't always bring up the newest stuff. I'll have something new up on Tuesday and you'll see me easily then. In the mean time, you can click the Patch icon over to the right on my blog here. It will take you to all my Patch columns.

I had to laugh at this sign because, seriously, it was just some landscaping plants. Unless there is a body buried there or one of those shrubs is psychedelic, I have no idea why they made the fuss. Thanks for all the great comments!

I'm thinking the plants they're growing just might be medicinal...
