WV: hylet. Hylets were children of High Voltage, whose name was often spelled Hy.

Read the Star News today for a great editorial calling out the South Pasadena City Council, or read it on my blog. Add your supporting comments at the Star News website because undoubtedly the Police Officers Association and council apologists will be adding theirs.
This makes me think of "It's a Wonderful Life" for some reason. The old concrete with the aged imprinted letters. I love the composition. You made such a simple thing really wonderful.

There's an underground utility room of some sort on Indiana street that has its own street address on the door (down a flight of stairs) and a welcome mat. When you walk by, you could almost imagine someone living there under the road.

I love this photo! I am always taking pictures of utility covers and manholes-- they're an undiscovered art form. :) I think some day a bunch of us Pasadena/South Pasadena bloggers should all combine pictures and do a photo essay of the sidewalks/streets leading from one city to the other...
