Trick of the Light

Add a little neon to a dark night and suddenly a perfectly ordinary parking garage becomes a potential film noir setting. Which reminds me of a great quote....

"I didn't know they were doing film noir," Marie Windsor once said. "I thought they were doing detective stories with low lighting."

Love the quote! I like how the neon blue is creating color on the bricks. Great use of complimentary colors.

Noir (low key) is one of my favorite photography styles. I use it in my own work and on some monitors, people don't see it and say "too dark." In my opinion, there is no such thing as too dark.

Amazing that a shot with these intense colors would evoke the black and white spirit of film noir... but it does. Great shot, LA.

I really like this sign. It was a nice addition to the Mission Meridian Village. You've posted a wonderful photo with the reflection on the wall and the dark sky behind.
