Too funny. I had to click on the photo in the portal. Couldn't work out what was going on. Still can't but presumably chucked out chairs that have seen a lot of life.
Charles' and Nora's decorator, Andre was so fed up with their indecision on new upholstery fabrics for their side chairs, that he had a complete melt down and just threw them out into the street.
It would be tempting to pull 'em to the sidewalk and sit in one. Is there going to be a parade to watch? If so, I want the best seat! Your photos are always a hoot.
In December of 2007, after many years on the west side of Los Angeles (and at least a third of those years spent stuck in traffic on Pico Boulevard) my family settled into a happy little house in South Pasadena. During their move, Tom had insisted that it wasn't necessary to tie down his wife's favorite blue chairs in the back of their pickup.

Tom may have gotten his new jumbo LaZBoy out of the stunt, but he had to sleep in it for almost a month afterwards.
