Synchronicity

I opened an old notebook and a page fell out. It was something I copied down a long time ago, scribbled among other scribbles copied down a long time ago. It was a poem, written by someone named Pixie Foudre:

Browsing the dim back corner
Of a musty antique shop
Opened an old book of poetry
Angels flew out from the pages
I caught the whiff of a soul
The ink seemed fresh as today
Was that voices whispering?
The tree of the paper still grows.

Man!! That's one of the best poems I've read in a long time. I love the angel reference too.

"the tree of the paper still grows" is so lovely, I'll think about it all day.

I want to go into that store and check out all of the necklaces hanging on that rack!

I'm charmed by the photo, the poem, and the name Pixie Foudre.

LA: I googled Pixie Foudre and found a ton of links, but nothing actually about her (it?), i.e., no biography, no blog profile, etc. (The poem you quoted is listed on several "all time best" love poem links.)

Wonderful shot, too.

I don't recall hearing from Miss Havisham's Tea Party lately. II hope she checks in and notices that there are some nice tea cups on the $1 rack. They would probably be useful at her next tea party.

Laurie,

Did you find the poem before or after the photo?
The colors are striking the poem is like a plunge into the cold, cold waters of a mountain lake. When you clear the surface after the dive, the only sound you utter is wow!

Hey guys!

Double D, I took this shot about a week ago. Yesterday, I found the poem in an old book which was kind of like what the poem itself was about...

so...

I put it all together!

Yak, I don't recall why I originally scribbled Pixie Foudre's poem in that book, or where I saw it, but I obviously liked it enough to copy it down. I, too, googled her name and couldn't find much except a few other poems (fabulous ones) and a lot of links including this one. Pixie didn't come up on Amazon so I'm not sure who or where she is. (I'm assuming Pixie is a she... although...)

I'm not usually a poetry person...but I have to say, Pixie absolutely wrote about my experience when I'm in an antique store...

Like Judy, I'll think about that poem all day. Wow.

Nice image/text combination too.

I'm thinking in another life my name was Pixie Foudre and I lived a lovely poet's life in Paris of course. Glad you liked my poem!

Reminds me of my closet. And I am entranced by Pixie's poem. I want to go into that store and hope I can catch some angels flying out and a whiff of a soul. I love those words from one so obscure. Great combination of words and colorful antiques, Laurie.

Wow, thanks you guys!

Mom, you would love to explore this antique store. I'll do a full post on it soon.

Virg, I KNEW that was you...

Until tomorrow!
