The center has a gallery, a fine art book collection, a variety of unique gifts as well as arts workshops for children and adults. It also has a really cool window ... especially at night, in black and white.

I love this. It has a quirky feel to it with the words space, the skeleton and his shadow, as well as the reflection of the flash in the window pane. You cannot overemphasize the importance of the arts. When programs are being cut and parents are forced to pay extra to keep their kids doing them in school, I lend my support to any place that encourages it!! Here here is right!!
Wow... there is an avant-garde facet in the gem of South Pasadena! Let's go to SPACE right after we've enjoyed a malt and an old-fashioned hot-fudge sundae at that little ice cream shop... what's its name?
Yak...you must be referring to Fair Oaks drug store on the corner of Fair Oaks and Mission...definitely a throw back to days of old!!!
Chieftess: That's the one! It's worth a drive across the 134 to stop at that drug store.
When I was a kid, my brother and sister and our friends went to the ONE drugstore in town every Saturday... to read the new comic books (and occasionally buy one) and have a sundae. Our allowance was 50¢ a week, so all that fun couldn't have cost too much!
