Love on Fair Oaks
Let's let Omar Khayyam offer the commentary for this one:
A book of verse, underneath the bough,
A jug of wine, a loaf of bread - and thou
Beside me singing in the wilderness -
Ah, wilderness were paradise now!

Perfect poem to go with this happy image.
I have to agree with Jilly. As the bough cuts across the left quadrant of the image it pulls our eye to the couple about to go under the awning with 921. The added rose bed certainly doesn't hurt either!
Have a great weekend everyone! I'll be glued to the Texas/OU game.
How sweet it is.....Omar Khayyam's poem and love in the afternoon. Or is it morning? Doesn't matter because it is California and the happy couple saunter past roses in bloom. All that matters is that they are together, the sun is shining and the sky is blue.
I like the colours & framing on Faire Oaks.
This shot makes me think about the gesture of holding hands... it's like a link between two people that permits the exchange of energy we call love.
Who ever holds hands, besides parents and children, young playmates and lovers?
Yes Yak, my eye was drawn to the hands as well, and my thoughts to what it means.
Everything reminds me of a song. This one comes to mind. "Can it be the trees that fill the breeze with rare and fragrant perfume? Oh no, it isn't the trees, it's love in bloom."
Does anyone know whose theme song that belonged to?
Love in Bloom was the themesong of Benjamin Kubelsky.
Mister Earl: If Benjamin Kubetsky was Jack Benny's real name, then you are right. He played it on his violin.
Yes, Benjamin Kubelsky was Jack Benny.
Who on earth would know that was Jack Benny's real name but Mr. Earl. Here's a toast to you, oh master of knowledge!!
Okay, Earl, you win a gold star for that one! (Oh, Mary...)
Thanks, everyone, for the great comments-- and amazing song selection and trivial knowledge!
Until next time, all...
Awww, such a sweet picture.
