When the city sleeps...

As I was adjusting the camera settings and setting up my tripod to shoot an isolated night image of the Station Lofts, I heard the faint but unmistakable sound of Green Day's Boulevard of Broken Dreams playing somewhere nearby.

Then, this guy walked into the shot.

Nice touch, serendipity!

You have the theme of diagonals again. Even the strap across his chest is from upper right to lower left. The light connect from upper left to lower right. AAAH - serendipitous moments are the best.

Cartier-Bresson would be proud of you. Perfect timing.

I LOVE those starry light flares!

A thought... on this deserted street, isn't it interesting and wonderful that there is nothing sinister about that lone figure on the sidewalk?

And speaking of the sidewalk... it is bathed in yellow light. I wonder where it leads...

If you look carefully, Yak, you'll see that the sidewalk leads to the other side of the tracks.

I do love those yellow flashes of light to go with the yellow sidewalk. As for, "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" I knew it as a soft lilting song. When I heard those guys rocking it out I knew I was out of the loop.
