Why do I love prowling around South Pasadena at night with a camera? Because even the Rite Aid parking lot looks pretty when lit by dappled moonlight and streetlamps...

It ceratinky does have that mysterious beauty of Urban Gothic light. Maybe I am just feeling that way out at the moment.
Honestly, I thought at first, it was the sea wall, and the area in the foreground was water but then I realized, you'd have to be wading in water, or sitting in a boat. :~p
I love that funky color of the sky.
If you are not already a SCUBA diver, I am convinced that you would make an excellent one... with "Night Diver" and "Underwater Photography" as Advanced Specialty certifications! I am serious! I have no idea how you feel about H2O, AND am NOT trying to talk you into it at all, but I see all the traits. You would make a fabulous mermaid with a camera, day or night!
It does, indeed, look pretty. I also thought water at first look.
My first reaction was that the swirling sky looks like it was painted by Van Gogh. It's been nice having cloud cover instead of smoke from the fires.
South Pas must have less light pollution than other areas of LA county. You can actually see details of the clouds, which light pollution usually washes out.
I love Fintippivot's vision of you as an underwater photographer!
It looks a bit like a swimming pool. Very Dreamy.
Beautiful. I especially like the "pier" that's catching the light.
A veritable cornucopia of motifs, each extending just a tentative tendril into the next.
The clouds were spectacular last night.
I used to surf there, but the divers kept getting in my way.
Great photo!!! I too first thought water, then thought...but this is supposed to be So Pas!!!
Hey kids,
Thanks for the chance to play Jaques Cousteau right here in South Pas! I'm so glad you all grabbed onto the underwater vibe here. I had just gone to Rite Aid for more batteries when I noticed the gorgeous light on the pavement. Jon, you picked up on the idea of that yellow parking divider line being a pier. It's exactly what I thought it looked like and I had to shift around to make sure the light hit it just right.
Yay!
Thank you for the lovely comments and kind words. Until next time, everyone. (I've been in a night mode mood lately -- those of you who have followed this blog for a while know that night shots are my favorite. Hope you don't get bored with a few more in the coming days.)
Like Vanda, I thought this was a pool at first.
It looks very nice indeed, Laurie!!
