I'm still on a quest for color -- but today, I'll add a bit of texture. I could go on and on about the beauty and craftsmanship of these old brick buildings but I'll save it for another post. After all, it's Labor Day!

Blue sky????? YAY
There are some dark clouds over South Pas today. Not smoke, but moisture. I saw a strange thing this morning. It was a flock of low-flying geese. There was a wedge of maybe 12 to 15 of them. They were flying at around 25-40 feet altitude. Very unusual sight.
What I love about this photo, aside from the color-wheel opposites of blue and orange, is the way the windows reflect the sky.
It gives the building an anthropomorphic quality, as if the windows are eyes that can look and see.
I like the window sill of the ghost window.
Actually, Oleg, that's known to the locals as the Amontillado Window.
Zooming in even further shows some really
awesome color and texture in these bricks. Nice choice Laurie.

I wonder if this is the same wall that had a surrealist mural on it years back? something with clouds. Anyhow I think it might have been the building I looked at studio space in if it's the same one that once housed South Pasadena's Newspaper

Lovely! The Amontillado Window sure looks fantastic at this angle. There are a lot of these things in our place as well and I am sure proud of that!
I wonder how many bricks were used for this entire wall? By the way, I really like the color and the collective feel!
I have always wished to have walls as lovely as this! I like it really red and clean, reminds me of the old brick walls I have in the province.
