Stumbling Over Artwork

I noticed several of these whimsical sculptures displayed at the school administration building. Anyone know what they are?

A great imagination and advertisement for wrapping paper. And what do you get? A thingamabob.

Usually I attend this event every year but I missed it this year. I love these big, happy art pieces.

These sculptures are the creations of various instant artists at the Eclectic Music Festival. They were made possible by the all-volunteer arts group SPARC (South Pasadena Arts Council). They are one of the many brainstorms from Marie Miller. She calls them "Art in the Streets - 3-D Graffiti". SPARC has a website - link to it through www.SouthPasadena.net

Yes these were created by members of our community led by Marie Miller, SPARC member and artist. SPARC is an organization that promotes art and artists in SoPas and advocates for the appreciation and understanding of the value of the arts and arts education for the community.

Thanks, everyone!

Welcome, Howard! I love what SPARC does for the community. I should have known they were involved in the creation of these fun pieces.
