Overanalyzing

I'm not sure what I was trying to capture when I took this photograph. I think it had something to do with all those rectangles, straight lines, angles and sharp edges broken up by the organic, freeform curve of that tree. Something grabbed in late afternoon with bright light compressing the three dimensions into flat picture plane. Something arty, referring to nature vs. city.

Or maybe I just liked that street lamp.

Despite the angles, rectangles and sharp edges, what strikes me is how Crayola could take a lesson from colorful South Pasadena.

My nephew went to college in the town where Crayolas are built. Interesting color on that building. Of course, orange and black rules in South Pas (and the NL West).

My first thought was yours - all of the angles and sharp edges, but to me, broken up by the off centered lamp with its rounded-to-a-point shape. :)

As much as I love trees - I didn't even notice it at first.

Happy Memorial Weekend. Let the cookouts begin!!

I really had to laugh (out loud) at your "arty" analysis.
