What is it about parks? They draw people as if they had magnets!!
I'm reminded of Antonioni's "Blow Up" as my eyes comb the background of the photo...

again a great job
you missed the city's newest renovated park and it's smallest
at the end of Via del Rey at Camino Verde
unfortunately the parks and rec commission declined to move forward a peak in the Moterey Hills

Hey Mike!
I didn't shoot pics down there but I mentioned it as a great spot for a picnic. My daughter and I go there and then hike up the big hill. I should take a pic and add it to the gallery. What's up with the lack of real playground in the Altos?!
Orange Grove is such an intimate setting - easy to keep track of the little guys. But why are the bathrooms locked all morning?
Wow, LAist gave me a lovely nod today for this week's Patch column.

the Monterey Hills Elementary School serves the Altos as the local playground and park. that is why MHS playgound area has more grass and trees than any other elementary school in SP. at one time the district wanted to remove the trees and pave over the grass areas to save in maintenance costs. but the Altos residents saved them. Have you seen the MHS's ADA friendly playground equipment? It is only the second ADA approved playground in LA County.... would make a great picture...
Oh by the way.. congratulations.. Keep Dec 29th evening open on your family calendar.. more details to follow....

I'm afraid to ask.
Hmmmm.... very mysterious and interesting.
Anon, regarding Orange Grove Park's bathrooms -- I've wondered the same thing. I know they are always open when the Day Care is there, and I've seen them open on SOME weekends, but I can't really figure it out. (There have been some near accidents with Little Bit!)
