Reminds me of a song...

...although somehow I doubt it's what Mitchell Parish had in mind when he wrote the lyrics.

What a find. I always love it when a cart is off by itself, almost as if it moved on it's own power. That pop of fuschia purple againast the green is just fabulous. There's a story here somewhere.

Lost. A fuschia shopping cart with a turquoise handle. Is there a house among the trees where groceries have been carried? We will never know.

I'm with Judy. I kinda wonder if it ran out of gas and rolled there on its own. Or if not, why someone would abandon it. But one does see shopping carts in strange places.

I do like the song, "Deep Purple." Thanks, Laurie, for the touch of nostalgia brought on by this shopping cart.

The colors are beautiful, even though they remind me of Barney the Dinosaur. That little cart is a long way from its 99 Cent Store home

I was wondering where that cart was from...thanks Barbara for clearing that up!!! I'm going to have to start going to that 99 cent store...just for that burst of joyful color!!!

Barbara said it: Maybe Barney lives in these woods.

That's fantastic! Suddenly, the color of those shopping carts makes sense. It's natural adaptation -- they're trying to blend in. And natural selection will weed out the unsuccessful ones.

What we probably can't see is that the brush behind it is full of other, hidden carts screaming to this one to tone it down.

Judy, I love the way your imagination works... is there a children's book about the adventures of a runaway cart? If there isn't, you should write one!

I call this shopping cart color magenta, and when I have my dream home the kitchen walls will be painted this shade. Everything else will be stainless steel and dark granite, topped with vivid yellow wall art.

I don't know how you find these shots, Laurie. This is brilliant.

The the shopping cart of the Purple People Eater. You know, the "One eyed, one horned, flying purple eater!"

What is the make and model of that beauty?

I always seem to pick out the cart with street cred.
You know, the one with weed and twine wrapped around the wheels; causing the one in the front to be permanently set at a left angle.

Hi you guys,

I was so tickled to see this purple shopping cart. And it really IS that purple -- I barely pushed color saturation and yet it still looks like something out of Who Framed Roger Rabbit. I've never been to a 99 cent store but that cart makes me want to go.

Pasadena Adjacent, I share your luck with choosing the most rickety carts -- and I only ever notice AFTER I've put Little Bit in the seat and started pushing.

Thanks for all of the lovely comments today, all. Until tomorrow...

One man's shopping cart is another man's GTO.
