About to Rain...

Yesterday was beautiful, but you could sense an undercurrent -- like a minor chord disrupting a melody. The weatherman says it's about to rain, but nobody sings it better than Neil Young.

I love photos where the camera was pointed straight against the light!

The plaintive notes of Neil Young's song... any Neil Young song... are so beautiful.

Your photo reminds me of an image from one of those old, "Dark Side" episodes... "just as real, but not as brightly lit..." Could there actually be a sinister side to South Pas? Or, is it just fun to imagine one...

You're right. I've seen slides even in non-burn areas. The ground can't hold any more water.

That's what I've been nervous about, Hiker. After Ocean View was turned into a mud river, I wonder what could happen next.

Yak, not sinister so much as foreboding...

Diederick, I like those kinds of images, too. I remember a photography teacher in high school admonishing me for underexposing a subject. I said, "but the subject is the sky!"

You can tell it's sunny, but at the same time you feel like something is about to happen...da dum! Great photo!

South Pasadena definitely has a sinister side, which we've learned in the last couple months.

Can't believe I missed this. LOVE the rich sky and the deep tones of your black and white conversion. And of course, a song man from my generation: Neil Young!! :)
