Moving Violation
Now this is something we don't see every day. I'm not sure of the penalty for disregarding that street sign ... but how do you give a horse a ticket, anyway?
I spotted these charming equine traffic violators on Saturday afternoon. I assume they were meandering toward the Mission West Spring Festival, but we'll never know. (Check out my overflow blog for a few more shots.)

Did u say Jon luved riding horses, or bikes, or was it sumthing else??
Them there animals look mighty clean & sanitary for horses.
I read in the papers that American were changing their big 4x4 cars ... but I did not expect this ! I love to see that side of America. Thanks for sharing
Those horses do look a little out of place these days. Wonder how many miles to the gallop.
Horses and street signs. No, not something you see everyday!
I think you caught the business end of ... well never mind.
Dixie Jane - Love Miles Per Gallop!
That is a shocker. I have such an affinity for horses although I have no idea what to do with them. Heh, at least they turned right onto the sidewalk and not the street. :~)
" A horse is a horse, of course , of course......"
It's stuck in my head already!

my girlfriend says you are the prettiest of all the photobloggers and your new pic just proves it! I only you know you always take great pics of your hood.
Your new avatar is soooo cool.
My horse would demonstrate the rapid dismount if I ever attempted to take her on a city street.
"If you obey all the rules you'll miss all the fun."

To finish for Virginia -
A horse is a horse, of course, of course,
And no one can talk to a horse of course,
That is unless, of course the horse is the famous Mr. Ed.
I used to sing this song to my kids when they were little and all they would do is roll their eyes. At least they didn't call me "Wilbur."
There are two violations in this photo - they turned right against the "no right turn" sign and are walking on the sidewalk. Bad horses. Mr. Ed would know better.
I'm sorry I missed seeing them. I hope they made it over to the historic watering trough on Meridian.
I loved your pun, Dixie Jane!
What new avatar...new picture. Did I miss something?
By the way, you are right K9 as to how I know Russell's. Laurie took us all there when Dixie Jane was in town. Click on Cafe Pasadena's new post... and thanks K9 for the hyper-link to my site!
Sign, sign, everywhere a sign...
that's a pretty good trot up the hill from the stables to El Centro and Diamond---assuming the horse is not used to being on pavement.
not sure which codes they could write up...trotting while intoxicated? Reigning in a superior humanoid while riding the curb?
Hope it was a great event!
Thanks, everyone. I'll catch up with you when I'm feeling less bleary. Until tomorrow...
