I like your composition with the sense of movement and irregularity of the rocks and craggy tree against the steadfast angles of the building and window. You have such a great eye.
Ditto Judy. Great eye as usual Laurie. I used to wonder what you would find left to shoot after doing this every day for four years. You always find new ways to reveal South Pasadena.
Nice!
Thats a great quote. I'm stealing it.
in your photo is a Japanese Black Pine. A favorite landscape tree in the 60's. I was visiting my mother last Friday and I'm so disturbed. Her beautiful JBP my father planted looks so unhealthy. Anyone know an arborist?
Where is this place? It looks like someone worked very hard to create a garden using dirt and rocks!
Up close a different perspective might see a nice rhythm and movement in the pattern of the rocks in the small wall.
"How to Use Your Eyes" by James Elkins might be fun for some of your readers. You gave me a copy!
I'm coming back to study the black pine and the rocks. If you really look at them, they are kind of the same in an odd way. Ok, I need a drink.....
I'm stilling that quote too! And ain't it the truth.
