South Pasadena's Farmer's Market is great for fresh produce -- and for inspiration! Even these strawberry tops are beautiful. Trash or art? (Why not both?)
I'll never forget a trip we took years ago to Southern California - long before you lived there. We passed a roadside stand and the strawberries were almost as big as my fist! We bought them to bring home, but they were eaten up before we got to the airport!
I used to live in Long Beach before I married TheChief and when I drove home from work...I'd stop at one of the strawberry stands on the roadside and pick up a flat of strawberries...by the time I got home, usually one basket was gone or well on it's way!!! I miss those roadside stands!!!
In December of 2007, after many years on the west side of Los Angeles (and at least a third of those years spent stuck in traffic on Pico Boulevard) my family settled into a happy little house in South Pasadena. This daily blog covered almost 5 years as I put down roots in my new home town -- and almost 5 more as I settled in and became a South Pas old-timer. Here it is...my time capsule of South Pasadena.
