Wish You Were Here

Today is the first day of the month, and that means it's Theme Day for participating City Daily Photo bloggers. This month's theme is Postcard-worthy.

There are a lot of postcard-worthy spots around South Pas. This overlook from Arroyo Drive is one of my favorites. Looking west toward the setting sun feels like staring into opportunity. (It's hard to believe the urban swell of metropolitan Los Angeles stretches out behind those hills.)

For other postcard shots from around the world, check out what my fellow City Daily Photo pals have come up with. Click here to view thumbnails for all participants

For a look at some of the little details we love about South Pas, check out my latest column at Patch. It should post sometime this afternoon.

You not only show us a beautiful postcard-worthy scene but you show us a photograph that has magic, emotion, light - just adore it. The grandeur of that beautiful tree set against the light with the man in the foreground. Perfect.

This is exceptional. I also enjoyed browsing your work via the link you provided at the end of this post. Very nice work indeed.

Aaaah! I have come to recognize that spot from your blog entries. Beautiful with the undulating hills, clouds and the silhouette of the guy and tree. Perfectly composed. I like that slight hint of lens flare in the lower left of the tree trunk. It is almost like a magic fairy is hovering. WAY TO GO.

this is a spot I spent many an afternoon hanging out when I was much younger. The possibilities in front of me, the troubles I could wash away with the beauty and the simple peace of just being right there. thanks for capturing so beautifully, one of my safe places I can escape to when things get tough!

I can't add anything to the appreciative comments, so I'll just thank you for such a beautiful and calming image.

This should be hanging on my wall. I love that outlook and you capture the feeling beautifully.

I also enjoyed this week's column at So Pas Patch. Nice take on things, Laurie.
