Happy day after Christmas. A sunset and the absence of rain....what a blessing.
I am a day late wishing a merry merry to all. I spent Christmas Eve night at Judy's and enjoyed her indulgence and all the camaraderie. We had a wonderful time and I know you did too.
Now it is time to focus on a bran new year. Happy New Year everyone!
I think it may be a little promo for UCLA. Beautiful photo.
You're right Dixie Jane, it's time to focus on eating bran now that Christmas is over!
WV: hancr. On Donnr, on Vixn, on Prancr, on Hancr!
Wow, this is beautiful, Laurie. Brilliant stuff.
Holy moly! That is fabulous. Love how the silhouetted branch and leaves gracefully arch over the top, and the hills ground us at the bottom. I like Mr. E's take on the UCLA colors.
I am afraid to step on the scales today. We ate (and drank) for 6 hours non-stop yesterday. YIKES!!!
Merry Day after Christmas everybody!!!
Laurie...this is gorgeous!!! I love how you framed the sunset with the branch silhouette! And the colors and drama of the clouds is really wonderful!!!
Dan's brother and family are coming up today!!! 3 teenagers for the week...please send calming vibes our way!!!
Kathy - if you have video games and a tv, the teens will be well managed. HAHAHAHA
Oh and lots of snack food!!!
Judy...uh-oh!!! no video games!!! Thank God the tv is working again (it was out during the storm last week...about 4 days)...and his dad is stopping at Von's on his way in!!!! Whew!!! We just might make it through this!!!
wv: rumstopo....perhaps a bit of rum too???
Actually...I think if I just bring up this photo on my computer and sit and stare at it periodically, that'll do the trick!!! It is mesmerizing!!!
The teens range from 15 to 18. The oldest is 6'7" and 260 lbs. They are all feeding machines. It's fortunate that the Von's in Mammoth Lakes is the highest grossing store in the chain. That means they should have a good supply to get us through the week. They are high energy so I hope they discover the slopes.
I missed this one. Glad you got it!
Why do you think the Vons is the highest grossing in Mammoth?
Make sure they don't go outside because they'll just burn up all those calories in the snow, and you'll have to go back to Von's again.
Von's is the only market in town. This place needs a Trader Joe's or Whole Foods, but they won't come here. I don't know why there's no competition, but when there's no competition, you do well. It apparently has been the highest grossing store in the chain for several years.
I heard it's because there aren't any locations that have enough square footage for a grocery store...and Trader Joe's declined because the local stable population is only @7500...apparently they don't think the weekenders are sufficient...
The light in this shot is beautiful, capturig the passage of time at the close of the day. It's exciting and it makes my heart beat!! Thank you.
By the way, what type of clouds are those? I don't think Cumulus. Maybe Nimbus? I'm not up on clouds like I used to be.
Mister E. I wasn't thinking bran when I left the, "d" off of brand. Let's hear it for my Freudian slip.
Come on, DJ. You know me! I'm not going to let a bran reference slip! ;-)
