I wish I had a more elegant background for this mack daddy red Cadi, but even without luxe surroundings, this car could make you feel like a million bucks.
That's a '57 Sedan de Ville. It's nice that it appears to be all original. In case the Chieftess wants to know how I know, my dad had a '58. They were identical except for the tail fins. In '57 they leaned forward, and in '58 they leaned back.
A car like that would, indeed, make me feel like million bucks! Kind of like how my older brother feels when he’s driving his Lexus Convertible ISC. We let him be because he deserves a car that is sleek and downright fantastic! Well, he’s worked hard for it. =D
In December of 2007, after many years on the west side of Los Angeles (and at least a third of those years spent stuck in traffic on Pico Boulevard) my family settled into a happy little house in South Pasadena. This daily blog covered almost 5 years as I put down roots in my new home town -- and almost 5 more as I settled in and became a South Pas old-timer. Here it is...my time capsule of South Pasadena.

Thank you Charlie's Coffee House for hosting my photo exhibit, South Pas: Observed. From October 2011 through January 2012 my pictures graced the walls of the best place in town to get a cup of coffee!
Read the nifty story on photo bloggers Petrea Burchard, Ben Wideman, Kat Likkel and little old me featured in the September, 2011 issue of Pasadena Magazine.

That late 50's model is a gem!!! Who cares about the surroundings. My eye can't stay off of that red convertible!!!
This must be the evolutionary stage just prior to fins.
even your quick shots are artistic. I like that bit of yellow. How do you find all these cars, anyway?

This is my dream car. Thanks, Laurie. I wish you would do a coffee table book of all your classic car photos.
To die for. Better than a pair of red Jimmy Choo's (not that I ever owned those either!)
Not too shabby. But I'm happy just to admire it; hate to be the one waxing it.
LA's just an old car magnet, Clarice!!!
Believe it or not...when I was in about the 3rd grade, I was fascinated by cars and drew them constantly...the bigger the fin the better!!!
Thanks, everyone. I'm pretty fond of this car, too.
