Rainbow at Dusk

Sweltering heat and increased humidity combined to create a lovely sky surprise last night.

Rainbows make me happy. I always think seeing one is a good omen. And the colors are always the same in the same sequence. I saw a double rainbow once. Spectacular!

Hopefully your heat wave won't be a long lasting one. We sure know about that here in Texas. Luckily, this year the rain gods have been good to us and we've only reached 96 so far!!

There is something magic about the ephemeral rainbow. You run inside to get a friend or family member to come share in its beauty and it has already disappeared by the time they can get outside. I guess this one is telling everyone that South Pas is indeed a pot of gold. :)

I never see rainbows here. This is cool.

Hey Dixie J,
This southern girl was not "glistening" yesterday, she was drippin'!!! Lord have mercy it's hot down here and there's no end in sight. We need rain so badly.

Love your rainbow LA. Gawgeous.

Oh my!!!
We were out on the deck watching a really nice sunset, but we had no rainbow...
After being almost 100, it became very cool and windy here on the hill...such a relief...

Nice. All we got over here was the sweltering heat and increased humidity.

Thanks, everybody. I just loved happening upon this rainbow. I'm with anon -- I never see them around here! Wish I'd had my better camera with me but at least I grabbed the moment.

Until tomorrow...

Glad to hear we weren't the only ones sweltering in excessive heat and humidity!!! When we got to Rome, it was an extreme heat wave in Europe...with high humidity...I could've stood in any public square and posed as a fountain!!!
