Sign Language

Today is the first of the month, and that means it's Theme Day for participating City Daily Photo bloggers. This month's theme is Funny Signs.

I always smile when I see this happy-go-lucky warning sign at the Kaldi counter toaster. It makes me think of how a similar approach might be applied for other warnings: an animated electric eel on the High Voltage sign, a smiling skull and crossbones on the rat poison, a blue-faced cartoon kid on the plastic dry cleaning bag...

Then again, maybe not.

Be sure to check out all the other wacky signs from around the world. Click here to view thumbnails for all participants

The dog biscuits are chained to the toaster. HA HA Maybe it's some alternate universe S&M!!

That toast looks really happy and unconcerned. Maybe if there were some flames leaping up off his shoulders I'd feel cautious.

The toaster and the dog biscuit are just odd together.

I KNEW this was Kaldi!! :) I'm laughing about the doggie treats chained up. Guess they think Boz, Albert and the Phoebster will come in and abscond with the goods!

Hey, I think that toast is getting ready to ( or fixin' to for the southerners) stick his finger in that toaster!

What is it about you fabulous Pasadena folk? Like Petrea, your post is funny but then so are the words you've both written. Great stuff!

Cartoon food never seems to fear its fate.

Is that a chef's hat on the toast's head or is a dog biscuit growing out of it? It seems at Kaldi, could be anything.

Hi folks!

Welcome, Maryann!

I am glad City Daily Photo made funny signs a theme today. It was a great excuse to post this picture from Kaldi. I think I love the dog biscuits as much as the sign!

THanks, everyone. Until tomorrow...

Nice!
I think the brick behind the toaster has already seen a bit of smoke... :-)
