You never know what a sunset along the Arroyo will inspire...
I was driving the other day when I just had to pull over and admire this view. I noticed two others standing on the trail. One, a woman, had her hands over her mouth in ecstatic surprise. But she wasn't looking at the sky. Instead, she was looking at the man, kneeling before her, with a little black box in his outstretched hand.
I can only assume her answer was yes.
No, I didn't sneak a shot of their moment. But I did sneak this shot of their sunset. (May they ride happily ever after into it.)

Awsome. I bet they'll remember the colors of their moment forever.
That says yes with bells on to me. Incredible natural sky.
What a loverly setting for a romantic moment.
The colors!!!!!
What a wonderful spot for a proposal. I don't think any guy could top that one!! I may have to make this my new desktop background.
That is a gorgeous sky! And a nice story too.
If it were my proposal, it would have included a little raging against the machine because of that chemtrail. But a great catch and romantic skies, nonetheless.
Love conquers all!
What a beautiful view, but I'm guessing neither of them will remember the sky. I think the jet's contrail makes a nice exclamation point on this spectacular sky.
And yet another example of composition skills, this one of balance (not symmetry.)
(The fact that it looks like a goldfish got skewered by a sword is another matter.)
Kudos, Laurie.
What a fun story!!! And what a perfect backdrop for such an important moment in their lives!!! Fabulous shot Laurie!!! Definitely one of my favorites!
Beautiful story.
Laurie, when are you going to
turn professional and come out with
a series of stock photo's.
Gorgeous shot.
Gorgeous Sunset! I would have said yes to this man too.
Some moments are best left in memory. I hope the couple sees your beautiful photo, to memorialize their happy day.
You always show us the beauty...
absolutely stunning! it doesn´t seem real! what a perfect day to get engaged
Let's hope they live happily ever after.
I think I was out on my deck with my camera on that very day!!!
thought you had these kind of sunsets in California all the time! :) wondrous
Nice photo, Shanna!!
the cloud and trail look like a watery reflection
I take it that the trail the three of you were on was the Bridal [sic] Path by the Arroyo?
Hey everyone,
Welcome Paty and Bellis! (Bellis, I was in my car on Arroyo Drive but the couple was on the path overlooking the Arroyo.)
Thanks for all of your comments today, everyone. Anton -- skewered goldfish!? Aghh!
Cafe, I know, I'm getting into Shanna territory with this one, huh?
I stumbled upon such a happy scene with such a breathtaking backdrop I just had to commemorate it somehow. Jon and I were married at sunset, so I do believe it is a particularly romantic time of day.
Til tomorrow, everyone.
Wondered if you'd catch that, Cafe.
A little cropping and voila!
Shanna, I think it's contagious. I know you've got me looking at and thinking about skies much more often.
Laurie, this is such a romantic picture and story. It would be lovely if the couple were to happen upon this commemoration.
Jean: That's interesting. I think it was hiker who left a comment on my blog to the effect that I had her looking UP. Nice metaphor.
