Sitting Pretty

Even with a tarp on top, this red confection takes a fine portrait...

Another oldie but goody?
From the pic it looks like a new paint job. Either that or just your usual great shutterladybugging skills!

I'm glad to see Laurie hasn't lost her touch of finding the classics. It's been a while since you've posted an old car, but this one was worth the wait.

It looks like about a '50 Plymouth Coupe. When my younger brother turned 16, he paid $50 for a 1950 Plymouth Business Coupe that had belonged to a friend's grandmother. Although the car was 18 years old, it only had about 25,000 miles. A business coupe is different than this one. It had only had a front seat, and a shelf behind instead of a back seat. But, it had a trunk you could hide several bodies in. We had a lot of fun in that car. His girlfriend made leopard skin seat covers. He owned it for a year during which he crumpled every fender and then sold it for $75.

I thought the folded tarp was an animal from the smaller view. HA

Great old classic. And the fact that it's been repainted red just makes it that much cooler against the opposing green of the trees. Terrific composition.

Nice. That car is beautiful, especially sitting in front of all that greenery. Great photo, Laurie!

Hey gang!

Don't you just love that cherry red color? I almost went over and removed the tarp before shooting the picture, but I thought the owner might see me and come after me!

DB, I would love to see that old car with the leopard seat covers.

Have fun on vacation, chieftess!

Thanks, everyone, for such nice comments. Until tomorrow...

Oh just stop it! I know you are renting cars now. There couldn't be that many fine oldtimers around there, I'm sure of it. Well.......it's just a faboooo car nonetheless.
