dbdubya said...: It's a movie set for a remake of the '70's disaster flick "Earthquake." It locale is South Pasadena instead of Hollywood. And instead of starring Steve McQueen and Jacqueline Bissett (remember the funny scene where she scrambles down the hillside as cliffhanger houses follow her?) it stars George Clooney and Halle Berry. The Billicke Tower is heavily damaged but doesn't collapse. The Oaklawn Bridge falls onto the Gold Line tracks, and the residents of this house have to be rescued because the chimney imploded into the living room causing a huge ash storm blinding them all.; August 12, 2009 at 8:24 AM

Yakpate said...: The wealthy and eccentric couple who owned the house passed away from indulging in too many chocolate-filled croissants... and the faeries who live in the garden have taken matters into their own hands to prevent the heirs from learning of the deaths... and selling the property to greedy developers who would level the garden.

To maintain the fiction that the owners are still alive, the faeries turn on the lights every night, play music, and prepare feasts for all their faerie friends. They dress the former owners in party finery, and prop them up so they are visible from the windows.

what I DO know is that house is in need of some serious repair---if that chimney collapsed in the 1987 Whittier quake like most did around SoPas---and a few are still in the valley of that roof---some serious neglect is happening! poor house!
