Incarnations

Sometimes people watching can offer glimpses of hidden worlds and even feel a bit like time travel. I've mentioned a similar phenomenon a few times before, but doesn't it seem like these two are versions of the same guy? See how the hip young adult seems to be emerging from the shy teenager?

Verrry Twilight Zone!!! A very interesting perspective, it absolutely does look like the same guy in metamorphesus...love the black and white...

Ha! Really enjoy looking at street shots... capturing another's world for just a brief second.

Like they got off the train and split into two!!

Reminds me of your August 18, 2008, reprised on January 1, 2009.

I think your camera caught the fey, inner child of the older guy showing himself for a moment! Another WAY cool photo!

It seems more as if they are cleaved into two by the machinations of the world around them, one selecting one path, one selecting another.

They seem to have their lips pursed in exactly the same way.

Kelly: What's it with the purse? It's always with the purse! ;-)

My attention is immediately drawn to the teenager's delicate, spider-like hands, so slender they might indicate he has a bit of Alien heritage.

Makes me wonder... what does the secret code on his T-shirt announce to anyone who can translate it?

I think Pat has something going about the kid's fingers. In the thralls of reading "Twilight" and now I'm struck by how Edwards would look like that too. Maybe he's a vampire?

Same expression and same length of nose...

That beautiful young man could be a concert pianist with those lovely fingers. I'm glad you guys see the magical similarities -- nose, expression, and something else. A vibe, I guess. I love it when a camera reveals another world.

How could you all laugh this off?? They're pod people!! They live among us! They're probably eating our cats!

Amusement, entertainment and passionate lunacy: sounds like a tagline for a blog!

The something else, the vibe, is perhaps frustration that yet another train is arriving and the gate still won't let them cross.

What Anton said!

Judy Williams said...

I sense no frustration but something out of the usual. Something special. Something magic.

I do wish the young guy would tell us about himself. I love his hand and the light that is on inside him.

Hi again folks,

BTW, welcome Birdman!

Thanks for the comments on this one. I was glad to have been able to snap this in time to capture what I saw. The two REALLY looked like versions of each other. I scrambled a bit to catch it from the right angle. I love street photography. You just never know what magical moments might happen right in front of you.

Until next time, y'all. Thanks again for being here!

How very strange to have stumbled across this! A friend of mine told me in my English class that someone had posted a picture of me on the South Pasadena blog and that there had been quite a few comments on it. Well I looked it up as soon as I could, and sure enough, there I was! I had quite a good laugh reading all of these comments. I thought I would answer a few of your questions.

My shirt is in Spanish, and shows instructions for throwing a party on a plane.

I play piano, but am very far from a concert pianist. I am much more devoted to guitar. And I most certainly am not an alien!

I must say I am quite impressed with Laurie for managing to take a photo of me without me noticing. A job well done!

Any other questions, just ask!

I must also add that I have shared this on Facebook. A typical teenager, I know.

The beautiful young slender man with the beautiful hands is a pianist indeed, as well as an incredible guitarist. And most of all an incredible person. He is gentle and compassionate, and the best son and friend one could ever imagine.
