Happily Ever After

Looking up to the sky beneath these two fluffy South Pasadena Palms, listening to the chatter of wild parrots, I can easily imagine that I'm in a kind of paradise...

I could be on a hilltop, in St. Lucia, gazing out to the placid Caribbean, in the shadow of the Gros Piton, near a fruit-laden Julie Mango tree, where just 7 years ago today I gleefully kissed my newlywed husband.

Happy Anniversary Groom! Listen, I think they're playing our song...

I'd like to think that when the wind blows these trees can touch.

Happy anniversary!

Today is the kind of day I wish I was lying under a palm tree. Too much stress and worry in the working world. I may have to come back and gaze at this picture later.

Happy anniversary to the couple that reaffirms my belief in the possibility of true love... a match made in heaven... and soul mates.

Jon's comment says it all... he is a poet, in addition to a Dad, husband, breadwinner, and all-around great guy. And Laurie...

YOU had the brains and the good Karma to welcome him into your life!

Congratulations to both of you for all the beautiful things you are creating from the raw stuff of possibility.

Nice palms, too!

We both channeled parrots today, but your post is perhaps a tad more romantic. Guess we know who we'll be seeing at Mission Wines. Happy anniversary.

I was so honored to know that the bride wanted to wear my wedding dress. All that satin and a train in St. Lucea. The natives were unaccustomed to such.

And from one by far wiser than I:

"Love has no other desire but to fulfill itself.
To melt and be like a running brook that sings its melody to the night."

Happy Anniversary Laurie and Jon.

Happy 7th Anniversary and may you have many more years of such happiness....it sounds to me that you are living in paradise...no imagination required at all! You have a wonderful way with words, your photo is beautiful, and the message your husband left for you above is so very romantic, poetic, and sweet. You're a lucky girl!

Happy Anniversary!

It seems that you are well matched and found a home in SoPas that allows you to bring us beautiful pictures.

7 years---a mere decade behind me & mine (we started YOUNG). From an old fogey like me, may your next 7 or 70 be as delightful as the first 7.

Happy Anniversary, Laurie and Jon!

I knew the first second the image came up on my screen, what it meant.
And to think, Laurie, you are the one who caught my wedding bouquet!
How it happened still makes me laugh. For those of you who weren't there , almost 8 years ago, I was laughing while drinking champagne and holding my bouquet and I dropped my bouquet. Laurie, who was laughing with me, stooped over and slowly cradled it in her hands. I said, "I guess it's yours!" HAPPY, HAPPY !

Hi everyone,

THanks for all the lovely words and good wishes! I'm here to say that eloping to a remote island in the West Indies is the very BEST way to get married...

Eki, thank you so much, my friend. I'll rush right over to your blog next.

You all make it such fun to maintain this blog. See you next post!

Makes me think of those "do you see the woman's profile or the vase." It's like they are looking at each other, having a conversation!!!
