A View from the Altos

Speaking of Monterey Hills, I have a new piece going up at Patch sometime this morning. In the mean time, check out winter in Southern California. I know I've included many versions of this vantage point before, but I never get tired of the view.

Snow capped and blue skies. Man - you can't get much better than this. I know parts of the Sierra Nevada got FEET upon FEET of snow.

Like the bright colors today. When I visit my mom in Fullerton I get an even better vrew of those mountains as they stretch our right in front of her apartment window.

Is that the San Gabriel range or San Bernardino? We can see snow capped peaks from here, but I've never been clear on which range I'm seeing.

DB is right---San Gabriel range...Gabrielino Trail up in them thar hills.

San Gorgonio and San Jacinto are RARELY seen from SoPas anymore...used to be able to see on REALLY clear winter days when San G had snow on it---right down Monterey Road somewhere between Via del Rey and Fair Oaks used to be a perfect photo shot.

and L---keep posting the beautiful pix!

Thanks, you guys!

That view is so spectacular. Today, Little Bit was sick but asked if we could bundle up, and go for a drive "to look at those mountains." She got her first digital camera for Christmas and she wants to start her OWN blog. Atta girl!
