Oh, the weather outside is frightful...

Honestly, I went out with the intention of capturing some festive Christmas images and I got this instead. It's not my fault. It's been raining nonstop for days. The curbs are flooded. The parrots are cranky. The roses are hanging their little rose-heads, weighted by the strain with bruised little petals that will never make it all the way to the rose parade.

This is Southern California's version of a white Christmas. It's just, well, melted. And remember how Frosty was when he was melted? Yeah, well, that's why you get this picture today.

My 1st thought is this shot came out looking very, very dark in my monitor.

The tree looked naked without the leaves.

Now THAT would have been a great Halloween pictur--or a "caption this" request. Creepy!

That is a spectacular shot. Eerie, creepy, and reflective of a dark rainy day. Well done. It's now been snowing here for 4 days. Enough!

What a mood but NOT for this time of year. I'm sending you some Texas sunshine.

Nicely observed. And really indicative of this week's weather, which, I'm sorry to say continues now (Monday morning).

I see my gardener and his extreme tree trimming philosophies have extended up into South Pasadena.

ROTFLMAO! It's not my fault! It's not, it's not, it's not! ;-) Sorry, I just spent an evening with nephews and nieces that, while they are growing, some are still in the stage of "I didn't do it, not my fault, nobody saw me do it!"...and I just linked your comments to all that.

And in actuality, if I tried to go out over the last few days and take pics, I'd have the same problem. Grey, grey, grey or black and white with almost no contrast. Ergo, my camera has been snuggled nicely in the case.

Hope you're getting a bit of a break from the deluge and something bright comes into the viewfinder soon!

wv: cockssk I am really not going to translate that....

Things are great now that we've switched from satellite to antenna.

Hmmmm, I should've thought of that Mr. E!!! Our DirectTv has been non functioning since Saturday!!!

Love the shot Laurie! Very Noir...maybe a bit Edward Scissorhands-ish!!!

And such a perfect description of the rain weary southland. As DB said, it's been snowing here since Friday...rather steadily...the snow on our deck is at eye level or above!!! And at the point of concern!!! The trees are so heavy with snow, the branches are pointing toward the ground like divining rods!!! We're all getting drenched in our own way!!! May the sun come out sooner than later for all of us!!!

The Edward Scissorhands antenna looks terrific growing through the rooftop, but will there be room for Santa and his reindeers on Christmas Eve?

I like the beautiful dark and light values you've captured. No matter what your mood happens to be, there is always the possibility of a great shot!

Poor scared crew-cut tree. It must feel naked.

My thoughts are with you as the rain keeps tumbling down. The weather has gone bonkers all over. Last night I sat by the cozy fireplace. Tonight, the AC is on.

Santa may have a problem deciding what to wear on his sojourn around the world. And Rudolph may need fog lights or windshield wipers. But Santa will come through. He always does.

bertN already said that the tree looked naked. Sorry, bert.

I think the tree has a punk hair cut.
