In this case, the words of the prophets are written on...

...the bathroom walls. (I guess we just don't have enough subways in Southern California.)

About bathroom walls...When Dick and I were in grad school at the Univ. of Iowa - he in the Writer's Workshop - the bathroom walls were alive with graffiti. I remember especially at Kenny's Bar ( there were not many places to go in Iowa City, but that was a real spot). Such CREATIVE graffiti.; March 22, 2012 at 12:17 AM

One of my favorites is still the collaborative words of two, written in the girls' bathroom at a dorm at Texas Tech University. In green marker were the words: Jesus Saves and in black were added At First National Bank of Lubbock.; March 22, 2012 at 5:20 AM
