This whimsical convertible van was parked here for almost 7 hours yesterday. (And yes, that umbrella was attached to it.) Given its choice of parking spot, I think it wanted its picture taken...
We saw the van parked there too on our way to the M Local Mediterranean Grill near Pasadena college. I'm so glad you took this photo! I didn't have my camera at the time. On the way back we saw it again...think it was on El Molina (heading north), but this time it was on the side of the road getting assistance from a tow truck. Poor thing had broken down just like the 1968 red and white classic my Dad used to own (way back when). I noticed with surprise that the owner appeared to be a normal looking female (no striped tights:). I just thought: 'how cool...like her style! But don't flip that thing." They have a high center of gravity and no seat belts from what I remember. I was surprised to see the other side of the van was orange (not purple).

Thank you Charlie's Coffee House for hosting my photo exhibit, South Pas: Observed. From October 2011 through January 2012 my pictures graced the walls of the best place in town to get a cup of coffee!

Maybe it's a "rescue van" as in rescue pet that was damaged by a tree in the recent windstorm.
That is just too awesome!!! I bet the driver wears striped tights and laughs a lot.
Love that photography sign on the left. You're absolutely right. Poor thing, waiting so long for a portrait.
Awww! The poor Lakers party mobile has nothing to celebrate this year.

I saw this too!
I love the colors plus the umbrella. It's theme jives exactly with summer!
Welcome, Grace!
I love the colors, too.
