Duet

The recent hazy sky put on a nice show with the sun. I tried, but didn't quite capture all the drama.

(For more drama, check out these absolutely stunning recent sky shots from Shanna over at View. )

I've waited a long time to use the word, "puce", often misspelled, "puse". Now you know everything you never wanted to know about this color.

Oh my!! Now THAT's what I'm talkin' about. Holy cow. You need to blow that up HUGE on a canvas!!! That is just stunning.

(I thought puce was a funky yellow green)

I got so carried away with my words on puce that I neglected to tell you what an extraordinarily beautiful picture you feature here.

I think you got drama aplenty in this - nothing to apologize for!

Hi,

This is a cute little blog. I lived in South Pasadena from the early 70's to the early 90's and in Northeast L.A. before that. I live in WA State now.

Despite my relief in getting away to some degree from the smog, the traffic and the crowds I still feel a strong connection to those places.. I just find them so special in so many ways.

Just recently I made an interesting discovery looking at South Pasadena from Google Earth: Elephant Hill. Look at the Monterey Hills and it's just south of the border with L.A. - you'll see a sizable undeveloped area with Collis Ave bordering on the west and Hanscom Dr in the Monterey Hills on the North.

Amazing that there's such a stretch of undeveloped land right in your backyard there. I must have drove past it countless times on Collis. I remember wondering what the heck was up there but never followed up. Check it out if you haven't already.

I'm coming back to gaze upon this dusty purple beauty again. WOW - this is a winner for sure.

No thanks on the vampires. Maybe a howling wolf though. :)
