Edge of a Storm

The light was incredible yesterday around sunset. North of this spot -- and out of the shot -- our San Gabriel Mountains were shrouded in ominous black clouds. Everything to the south, however, was billowing and colorful. It was like being sandwiched between storm and calm. Here, a cyclist (and I) look at the bright side.

This is amazing.

The colors and feel remind me of Petrea's Occidental Cross-Country team photo. http://pasadenadailyphoto.blogspot.com/search?q=occidental

Everything about this is perfect. The trees, almost like fronds, are bowing down to the guy on the bike. I adore silhouettes and this does not disappoint. That hint of blue peeking through the trees, and the hazy yellow along the horizon. WOW

Glad you caught that wonderful sky. It was amazing driving back from the Simi Valley, where we had bright sunshine on the Hummingbird Trail: the San Gabriels were pitch black (from snow clouds) and white (from fallen snow) while the Valley had dramatic light changes as rain/snow clouds dropped their load. It's not often we have dramatic weather here, so yesterday was very special!

Beautiful shot! It makes me think of 19th century English landscape paintings.

We were out in it, driving back from the west side and saw the whole show. We entered rain and saw a car with snow on it. How we do relish weather out here!

I took photos all the way back....Watch for my next post, like maybe tomorrow!
