Love the colours in today's photograph and yesterdays. Isn't it good when the weather warms up and we can all sit outside again.
I'm such a dork, two songs from musicals immediately came to mind. "Happy Talk" from South Pacific, and "Pick a Little Talk a Little" from Music Man.
Maybe I should read more. haha
Perhaps this has some symbolism in that these two women are really movers and shakers, despite their more suburban "normal" appearance. This is just a relaxed scene with pretty colors. ME LIKES.
Laurie, we are getting the same thing here in Arizona. Not quite in the 80's but, way warmer than it should be. There are people in tank tops an flip-flops everywhere.
Laurie - I hope you weren't too tired last night to read about My Sweet Cupcake. I'm guessing your daughter's gonna love it.
Judy - Movers and Shakers indeed. "For I am moving to Shaker Heights, where I got some connections in dry goods..."
My grandparents moved from University Heights to an apartment in Shaker Heights in their later years. They lived across the hallway from Paul Newman's aunt, from whom my grandmother used to buy gift packs of pistacios at holiday time.
Oh yeah, it was so nice and toasty, then it got chilly again this morning! I hope it warms up. I was enjoying that weather.
Laurie, your grandmother would agree with me about the pretty colors here, especially pink and green. What a happy tree! And, Judy, I like your reference to, "Happy Talk." "Talk about things you like to do. You've got to have a dream, if you don't have a dream, how ya gonna have a dream come true." This picture, just a nice slice of eye candy. Not so pretty here. Brown and cold. The deer are scrounging for food and I hate to admit that I have to put out artificial flowers. I found one of the leaves on the ground. I would like to have seen the deer who thought about eating that one. "Blahhhhh"
Sorry I haven't been round for ages!
Er, are you sure it's winter over there? It looks more like, um, summer! I wish I could walk around like this - the big woolly coat is still in rotation Im' afraid!
Ciao

More taunting!
I like the reflections in the window of the traffic signal and street sign for Fair Oaks and Grevelia.
What do you think the two women are talking about? The one on the right is certainly animated and the one on the left is smiling, or grimacing.
I think the one of the right is complaining about how cold the nights are, even with the warm days. The one on the left is getting ready to say, "Girl, you don't know what cold is. Spend a winter in Buffalo and then you'll know."
DB: I hear that the IRS sends people with high-powered directional microphones to sit in the parking lot at Bristol Farms and listen to the conversations across the street at Shakers. Sounds like someone must have given you a transcript.
Mr. Earl - please keep my trade secrets to yourself.
Shakers - where there's a whole lot of shaiking going on.
mid 80s! Oh man! It's 17 in New York. Thanks for your comments Laurie. Manhattan is a war zone now between preservationists and developers, with the latter usually winning. I am about to post a bunch of before/after shots of Times Square. Some things, like the New Amsterdam renovation are a great success. But mostly they have gutted the block for commercial crap...ugly as hell..
That may be true, Ken. But you can't land a plane in the Los Angeles River!
Hey Dixie Chick. Hope you're feeling better; you sound good -- singing South Pacific and all.
It was 11 F the other night here in the sunny south!! This is not fun. It's cold, gray, brown, ...... you get the picture. Are you teasing about 80's ??? Well it won't last long here I pray. FOr now your photo makes me sing "Happy Talk" with Dixie. I know every word I'll bet.

Love your blog... also from So Cal. Hasn't the weather been great this week??
Hi everyone,
Welcome Coachdad! My father was a coach for over 50 years, so I can already tell we are going to get along just fine...
Thanks, everyone, for the great comments -- and song lyrics!
Mister Earl, yes I did get your message about the cupcake store. I stopped in Gracie's today to have a look. (You're right -- my daughter is going to love it.)
Nice to see you Jamjar -- I hate to taunt you (and Wayne and Virg and Ken) with this Southern California perfect weather. Just remember, we get earthquakes, too... (Speaking of "shakers.")
Dbdubya, I have no idea what these two were discussing, but their laughter was so infectious, I had to snap a picture. I'm pretty obnoxious about trying to capture people when they are having a great time.
I'm so glad you guys have been digging the colors of the last few posts. I seem to be on a roll with this red and green palette -- and I went a little bit nuts about color in tomorrow's post.
Til then...
